“And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.” Acts 7:22-23 KJV
Happy New Year! Welcome to 2019. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas celebration. I sincerely wish each and everyone that comes across this article a meaningful and progressive 2019. Especially those of my ‘Tribe’; StrongNation. We have been through a lot together and together we have increased. Like our name we are stronger and waxing stronger, until a little becomes a thousand and a small one Strong Nation (Isaiah 60:22). This article is about Dreams, Visions and Goals.
Dreams are yearnings of the heart, a longing for something better than the current situation. They are expressions of possibilities if the opportunities are available. We all dream because we can imagine based on our experiences. Usually Dreams come in allegorical forms; figurative and nebulous. With Dreams despite the intense desire, there are things missing. Acts 7:23, Moses had a dream of delivering the Jews from bondage. But he did not know how or what he would do with them. Joseph had two dreams that he would become a big shot, he also had a big mouth so it got him into ‘big trouble’. Dreams, if not properly handled or interpreted, can lead to frustration. But Dreams don’t die, if you don’t stop believing, they transform. Ask Moses, he never let go even though he lost his status as prince of Egypt and he became a shepherd for Jethro (Hebrews 11:27)
Visions, come when God breathes upon your Dreams and they are no longer yours. He cuts out the fat and gives shape to things ( Genesis 1: 1-3). Visions are clear framework of success. Now you can see the end from the beginning. Like Moses, the Holy Spirit will take you to the mountain top and show you the land ‘filled with milk and honey’. Things are no longer nebulous, your Dream is now the Vision of God. Moses now knew what to say, he had the rod of God, his hand was no longer his and he knew where to take the Jews. I pray this year 2019, that God will cut out the fat and turn your Dreams to Visions, so that you can ‘get on with it’ . But Visions can be daunting, huge and intimidating. You know the end from the beginning but what do we do with the middle, how do we translate this into physical reality?
Goals, are landmarks that convert the unseen to seen, step by step. God will give Goals as signposts in the journey of Vision, to make it a physical reality. This tells you that your Dreams are alive and the Vision is not the hallucinations of a fanciful mind. Moses had something to say to Pharaoh, he had an answer for the children of Israel. They crossed the Red Sea, he gave them the Law , introduced them to God and so on. These are bite size, chunks of deliverables, signposts on success called Goals. He has moved from Dreams to Vision and the Vision is being translated into reality through the embassy of Goals.
In 2019 wake up and Dream again, hold on to it, mix it with faith and God will breathe upon it so that a Vision emerges. You will see clearly the end from the beginning because you are a New Creation. God will give you Goals, and as each goal comes into being, it will be a confirmation and signpost of success.
Happy New, expect a bigger, better and bolder 2019.
