“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7 KJV
The dictionary defines the word SUPERNATURAL as something beyond scientific understanding or the natural laws. In other words, outside the natural or simply put, the SPIRITUAL. Does that sound familiar? Genesis chapter two verse seven says, God Almighty breath into the nostrils of the lump of clay and it became a living soul. The part that matters in man is the spirit, that is actually the part that is living. Remove the spirit from man and you end up with a lump of clay. So, in reality and from definition we are SUPERNATURAL; beyond scientific understanding or natural laws. Never forget that.
In this age where it is very fashionable to do a DNA check to confirm ancestry links and if we could do the same for our spirit, it will show a direct link to our source; God (Genesis 1:26-28, Romans 8:9,29). We are SUPERNATURAL, we have the Spirit of God in us. The spiritual realm and God are our natural environment, once you are born again. We have a divine nature same as God (2Peter 1:3-4). The reason we treat SUPERNATURAL things as strange or special is because we are not aware of who we are.
“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,” Hebrews 12:22 KJV (context Hebrews 12:22-24)
Not only are we SUPERNATURAL, we are surrounded by a supernatural environment. Hebrews 12:22-24, gives a vivid description of what surrounds us. When we appreciate this, we will be like fish in water or winged birds in the sky. Knowing we are SUPERNATURAL brings the best out of us and makes us more useful to our Father. An eagle can manage to walk on the ground, but it’s at the finest when it takes to the sky. Why? Because it is designed to fly and soar. The mud fish can even survive without water for a time, but it will not reproduce.
“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:1 KJV
The Apostle Paul could not share some deep truths with the Church at Corinth just because, they didn’t know that they were SUPERNATURAL. Hebrews chapter five verses 11-14 is a rebuke to SUPERNATURAL people who are ignorant of the fact. They were stuck on milk, instead of balanced diet. If an eagle is unaware of its identity, it will feed on dirt with chicken. Eagles are meant to feed on chicken, not to eat dirt alongside chicken. We have forgotten that we are SUPERNATURAL and that is why we manipulate the natural just for excitement.
“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:5-6 KJV
I believe it is time we started living the SUPERNATURAL life because that is who we are. We should not even struggle to live that life, it should come ‘supernaturally naturally’. Enough of the motivational speech that has become the hallmark of the modern-day church, we are SUPERNATURAL. The day the eagle realises its identity, that’s the day the chicken becomes its food. James chapter five verse fourteen asks, “Is any among you sick?” The suggestion is that sickness should be a rarity amongst them. Why? Because we are SUPERNATURAL and we ought to expect to see the supernatural naturally! We have lived like mere men for too long including me, but no more.
