Visitors’ and new members’ Commitment to the Church’s Membership – Hebrews 10:24-25

Purpose:

The church’s main objective is the fellowship through the welfare of its members by the body of Christ. When a man or woman, boy or girl, young or old becomes a Christian, he/she doesn’t just join a local church because it’s a good habit for growing in spiritual maturity. He/she joins a local church because it’s the expression of what Christ has made him/her – a member of the body of Christ.

Being united to Christ means being united to every Christian and to fulfil this mission it is imperative for the church to know its members by their commitments to the efforts of the church. You are not a member when you sneak in and out during a routine and occasional attendance but you a member mainly by your commitment to the church’s fellowship/vision and the body of Christ, ethos, values and beliefs of the church by Christ Jesus.

Benefits:

  • We study God’s word together – Ephesians 4:11-13
  • We honour God together through worship – Psalm 34:3
  • We find accountability: a framework of accountability. Once relationships are formed, growth and friendships follow; there’s someone to encourage you, rebuke you when necessary, and rejoice with you. We are not nosy! – Proverbs 27:17 and 2Timothy 4:2
  • We find support in trials – Galatians 6:2
  • We gain opportunities for service: contribute as individuals and receive also as individuals – Ephesians 6:7
  • We make disciples – Hebrews 5:12

Cost(s):

Nothing – Entirely free! So, the procedure is simple to join the membership:

You must be born again as in John 3:1-21.

You want to serve God in Spirit and truth, without any other considerations

You want to be a member of a family of God.

We will pray for you and give you our church’s sticker free.

NCC StrongNation Membership Framework:

  • You are a visitor once, when you come in for any of our services. The subsequent times, we do not see you as visitor(s).
  • At the end of every quarter we will invite you to join the membership of the church by committing to the workforce, love and fellowship of the church in a ceremony (an informal environment, with finger food and nibbles – here we serve visitors, first!)
  • In attendance: are the leadership and members of the church. Here, we will extend a hand of fellowship to you and hopefully you would receive (no pressure!) our hand of fellowship extended to you.
  • The Pastor will share and recast his vision for the church, his devotion to its membership, history of the church and its operations, our ethos, beliefs, activities, holy communion, baptism etc.
  • Each HOD will introduce their activity group or nearest home fellowship group to you and you are at liberty to choose any to serve (God has not created anyone as a waste pipe and He hasn’t called the children of Jacob to worship him in vain Isaiah 45:19).

You are StrongNation!

New members are then taken through a Christian foundational class where doctrinal and foundational subjects are taught within the framework of Hebrews 6: 1-2:

The principles of the doctrine of Christ:

  1. Perfection,
  2. Repentance from dead works,
  3. Faith toward God,
  4. The doctrine of baptisms and of laying on of hands,
  5. The resurrection of the dead and of eternal judgment.
